Dita’s “actual” name was actually Von Treese (she picked it up out of a phone book because when she landed the cover of Playboy gig, the company told her she needed a last name). Playboy misprinted her name (probably intentionally), and she ended up using Von Teese as her last name. It works better than “treese” anyway, especially since she doesn’t do Poison Ivy in her act.
Speaking of Dita Von Teese’s acts, her most famous and iconic one is the Absinthe Glass. I recreated it using an oversized novelty martini glass and filled it up with soapy water with RuPaul Doll wearing nothing but a cubic-zirconia necklace (found on eBay).
